Reverend Hal S. Lafler

August 19, 2018

It is with a tremendous sense of loss I share with you, and the ACIM Community, that Hal made his transition on Friday, August 10, 2018.  As many of you know, Hal had been struggling with health issues for quite some time.

It is the family’s wish to have a memorial service on December 28th.  I will continue to send out details as I receive them.

At this time, I will be adding a page on miraculousmusings.com for any of you who would like to share your feelings and/or an experience you had with Hal.  Just email me directly at:  bgriff@cox.net and I will post for you.

I wish I could be more eloquent at this time, but words are not coming to me in my own grief.  Please know that he loved all of you and felt ‘at home’, as much as one can in the body, in the ACIM Community.  His words and actions brought great comfort to those who knew him and he will be greatly missed.  As we know, he is eternally free, and will continue to do his work at a whole new level.

In quoting Hal’s favorite song, RAINBOWS by Mark Winkler:

But I’ve gone and grown up, I’m a man.

And the world ain’t turned out like I planned

And thought it should.

But I’ve still got some dreams to come true.

Now if only they would, surely I could

Reach me a rainbow

Here’s to Hal reaching his rainbow.

Regarding Donations:

My dad was a man of great honor having served his country in so many ways. He retired as Navy Master Chief Petty Officer to Chief of Naval Operations. For this he was so proud and patriotic. My dad also had a love and softness for living beings especially dogs. In lieu of flowers please consider donating. WWW.SOLDIERSBESTFRIEND.ORG pairs shelter/rescue dogs with Veterans having PTSD /traumatic brain injuries. The dog and the Veteran are paired together and go through 6-9 months of training forming a bond that will last a lifetime. The dog is then the Veterans therapy/service dog. Please add Harold/Hal Lafler under acknowledgement so Soldiers Best Friend knows whose memoriam to reference. You can access from the below link.

I am overwhelmed with the support received from who all who knew loved my dad.

With gratitude,
Hal's devoted and loving daughter,
DeAnn and family
