Perfect for My Learning

April 23, 2015

Today I decided to take a respite from my learning and spend some time reviewing a compilation of the various opportunities I experienced during my spiritual quest over many years.  This review began shortly after I read the following passage from ACIM:

There will come a time when images have all gone by, and you will see you know not what you are.  It is to this unsealed and open mind that truth returns, unhindered and unbound.  Where concepts of the Self have been laid by is truth revealed exactly as it is.

WOW!  These words really got my attention and led to the recognition as to how little patience my ego had given me as my journey unfolded and it became abundantly clear to me, as well, how little peace my ego permitted me during this process.  I realized that with each path I tried, whether accepted or rejected as a course of study, had value; for example, ACIM, which seemingly has become the ultimate path for me.  This spiritual psychotherapy has given me wondrous glimpses of freedom from my ego past and has permitted me to move forward without regret of any kind.

What has been the conclusion for me as I experienced this particularly powerful day, was reading the following passage from ACIM. This is what I wish to leave with you:

Simply do this:

Be still, and lay aside all thoughts of what you are
and what God is;
all concepts you have learned about the world;
all images you hold about yourself.
Empty your mind of everything
it thinks is either true or false,
or good or bad,
of every thought it judges worthy,
and all the ideas of which it is ashamed.
Hold onto nothing.
Do not bring with you one thought
the past has taught, nor one belief
you ever learned before from anything.
Forget this world,
forget this course,
and come with wholly empty hands unto your God.
